Urge NJ Senators to vote YES on two bills to stop antisemitism

Urge NJ Senators to vote YES on two bills to stop antisemitism on and off our college campuses!

S1292
Establishes a statewide definition of antisemitism; creates a public awareness campaign; appropriates $100,000. By passing this bill, the state is codifying the IHRA definition of antisemitism to distinguish free speech from hate speech.

S2937
Requires definitions of antisemitism and Islamophobia be included in existing state DEI and belonging policies, and in such policies for receiving funds. This bill requires any entity that receives state funds to incorporate antisemitism as defined by IHRA and Islamophobia as defined by the UN to be included in DEI policies. This bill makes entities ineligible for receiving state funds if they do not comply with both definitions - while maintaining a DEI program.

New Jersey Senate offices have received nearly 1,500 emails opposing these bills. It is urgent to make your voice heard in supporting these bills that are critical to the safety of New Jersey's Jewish community.
Please click the below email addresses to send a message.

NOTE: Jewish Federation does not advocate for or against the implementation of DEI policies. However, as long as these policies are implemented in the State of NJ, it is in the best interest of the Jewish community to ensure that antisemitism is included.

Hello Senator,

I am writing to alert you to two vital bills aimed at antisemitism on and off our college campuses. Please advocate for the passage of these bills.

S1292 establishes a statewide definition of antisemitism; creates a public awareness campaign; and appropriates $100,000. This is the state codifying the IHRA definition of antisemitism.

S2937 requires definitions of antisemitism and Islamophobia to be included in the state's DEI and belonging policies, and in such policies for receiving funds. This bill requires any entity that receives state funds to incorporate antisemitism as defined by IHRA and Islamophobia as defined by the UN to be included in DEI policies. This bill makes entities ineligible for receiving state funds if they do not comply with both definitions while maintaining a DEI program.

We urge you to support these vital pieces of legislation. Join us in standing united against antisemitism and working towards a New Jersey that is safe for everyone.

Thank you in advance for your support,
