Israel Support Comes from Extraordinary Places

Bar Mitzvah boy, Joshua, is more than half way to his goal of raising $10,000 for Jewish Federation's Israel Emergency Fund.

"I am working on a mitzvah project to help heal the world for my Bar Mitzvah," he says. "The people of Israel need our support and I want to help protect and save lives."

Stonebridge Italian American Club in Monroe Township sent a donation for $500 with a letter saying, "We are deeply sorry about what Israel is experiencing during and since the horrific terrorist attack by Hamas. We want to share our condolences and support. We hope this donation witll help Israel during these most difficult times and pray for all those affected by this crisis."

The Jewish Community Club at the Ranney School, formed just this semester, ran a fundraiser that raised nearly $1,000. Club president, Zachary, said, "We know that plenty of people's lives have been greatly impacted and we want to support them in any way we can. Though there were many donation sites out there, we chose to donate to the Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey because of our club's previous connection to this organization and the fundraiser seemed to directly align with our goals."

From Community Refuge Church of Christ in Manalapan to Jewish Family & Children's Service of Monmouth and Jewish Family Services of Middlesex, Venue at Monroe adult community, United Way of Central Jersey, Axelrod Performing Arts Center, and such synagogues and their clubs or groups as the Highland Park Conservative Temple/Congregation Anshe Emeth South River Minyan, Marlboro Jewish Center and separately its Prime Timers group, and Sisterhood of Monmouth Reform Temple — we have been moved by the outpouring of support from these groups.

Among the more than 1000 donors who have contributed to Jewish Federation in the Heart of NJ's Israel Emergency Fund, these extraordinary groups and individuals serve as slices of light through a dark and difficult time.
